Disconnect on a true off-grid island expedition between El Nido and Coron. Exploring remote islands, snorkelling untouched reefs, and discovering raw authentic island life.
Disconnect completely on a true back-to-basics island expedition from El Nido to Coron. Travel by a traditional Filipino Bangka to untouched beaches, hidden coves, and uninhabited islands far beyond the tourist trail. Life on the expedition is intentionally simple, with minimal electricity and no Wi-Fi, allowing you to fully immerse in nature.
Spend your days snorkelling pristine coral reefs, exploring idyllic islands, and swimming in crystal-clear waters. Evenings are shared on isolated islands at our beachfront basecamp’s, enjoying freshly prepared meals, incredible sunsets, and sleeping to the sound of the sea in traditional native huts. This expedition is designed for adventurous travellers seeking raw beauty, simplicity, and a genuine escape from the modern world.
The evening prior to departure we will host the pre-departure briefing at 5pm at our office located in Pops District.
This is an off-grid expedition with minimal electricity and no WIFI.
Your main luggage will be stowed during the trip (there is no weight or size limit for this) and you will need to prepare a smaller bag with all your essentials for the three days. We highly recommend a secure dry bag. Pack light, pack smart and pack for adventure.
The minimum age to participate is 16 years old.
You will sleep in traditional native huts that come equipped with a mattress, pillows, sheets/linen and a mosquito net. These are suitable for two adults. They do not have a fan or air conditioning. Toilet and showering facilities are shared and not ensuite.
This experience is not suitable for travellers’ seeking luxury or constant connectivity.

We also offer private Island Escape expedition trips, and these can be tailored to suit your preferences. We offer 3D2N and 4D3N for private trips. These trips can be from El Nido to Coron or Coron to El Nido or El Nido to El Nido. Please send us a message if you'd like to enquire about a private trip.
All our expedition trips' have a minimum age of 16 years old to participate and no upper age limit providing you are physically fit and have no serious health conditions. Our trips are also not suitable for pregnant women. This is due to the limited medical care available throughout the route. Please inform us upon booking if you have any medical conditions that we need to be aware of.
Group sizes range between 15 - 25 guests, depending on which of our boats is assigned to each tour.
We can cater to most dietary needs and requirements. Please inform us upon booking if you have any allergies and/or dietary requirements so we can make adequate preparations.

- Cancellation and Refund Policy
Terms and Conditions for Booking with We Are Juan
- General Information
- By booking a tour or activity with We Are Juan, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
- These terms apply to all bookings made directly with We Are Juan or through authorized agents.
- Booking and Payment
- A reservation is confirmed once the required deposit or full payment is received.
- The full payment must be made at least 7 days before the scheduled tour unless otherwise specified.
- Payment methods accepted are cash, credit/debit card – through our website, bank transfer and PayPal.
- Failure to complete payment within the specified time may result in the cancellation of your booking.
- Cancellation Policy
- Guest-Initiated Cancellations
- Cancellations made more than 7 days before the scheduled departure date are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made 7 days or less before the tour date will not be eligible for a refund.
- Guest-Initiated Cancellations
- We Are Juan Initiated Cancellations
- If we need to cancel a tour due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule. We will attempt to reschedule within two days of the original tour date. If you agree to the rescheduled date, the original terms and conditions will apply.
- Any cause for delay by the guest on the day of departure will result in your trip being cancelled and non-refundable. Rescheduling may be available subject to availability, a 50% fee of the total cost of the booking will be payable.
- Changes to Bookings
- Requests for changes (e.g., date, number of participants) must be submitted via email at least 7 days before the tour.
- Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.
- Liability and Responsibilities
- While We Are Juan strives to provide a safe and enjoyable experience; participants join tours at their own risk.
- We Are Juan will not be held liable for personal injuries, loss of belongings, or damages incurred during the tour.
- Participants are required to always follow the instructions of their guides to ensure the safety of all participants and our staff.
- All participants are required to sign a disclaimer and waiver prior to participation.
- Any cause for delay by the guest on the day departure will result in your trip being cancelled without a refund or rescheduled for a fee equivalent to 50% of the total cost of the booking. Rescheduling is subject to availability.
- Health and Fitness Requirements
- It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they are physically fit and capable of participating in their chosen activity.
- Any medical conditions or dietary restrictions must be disclosed at the time of booking.
- Children Policy
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Children under 16 are not eligible to participate on our shared/group Island Escape Expedition and there is a minimum age of 10 years old to participate in a private trip.
- Force Majeure
- We Are Juan will not be liable for delays, cancellations, or modifications due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political unrest, or severe weather conditions.
- Photography and Media
- By joining a tour, you consent to be photographed or filmed for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be included, please inform us prior to the tour.
- Island Escape Expedition
- All participants are required to join the pre-departure safety briefing, failure to attend will result in your booking being cancelled and the total cost of your trip being forfeited.
